IPL 2020: WATCH – Amit Mishra’s emotional speech as Delhi Capitals bid emotional farewell to him

Mishra got ruled out of the ongoing IPL due to a finger injury.

Amit Mishra | IANSVeteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a finger injury that he picked up during Delhi Capitals’ (DC) fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on October 3.

Mishra, who claimed three wickets in as many games for DC in IPL 13, sustained a flexor tendon injury to the ring finger while trying to take a return catch of Nitish Rana.

As the 37-year-old spinner was about to leave Delhi Capitals’ bio-secure bubble, his teammates bid him an emotional farewell at their hotel in Dubai.

DC shared a video of the same on Twitter, in which skipper Shreyas Iyer said: “On behalf to the whole team I would like to thank you for your service in the last five games. You were amazing in your efforts throughout those days. We would be missing you definitely but going forward, I would just like to say that please do keep in touch. We will also try to do that.”

Mishra’s teammates then step up and wish him goodbye with coach Ricky Ponting, Ishant Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan hugging the bowler.

“Thanks a lot for your support guys. I am going to miss all of you. Really amazing journey till now and looking forward to you guys to win this tournament for me. All the very best,” Mishra said in his speech.
