Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag lauded the contribution from Marcus Stoinis and Rishabh Pant for rescuing Delhi Capitals (DC) and taking them to a competitive score against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Delhi scored 196/4 in 20 overs and it was Stoinis' quick half-century (56* off 26) which made a difference between the two sides. The Aussie batsman and Pant piled up 89 runs in 43 deliveries. They not only took away the momentum from Bangalore but also ensured RCB have no chance of a comeback with the ball.

"It was as if Delhi's score has been suffocated. To fix it, 'Special Agent' Marcus Stoinis and 'Atom Bomb' Rishabh Pant arrived in. It was as if both of them save Delhi's government from falling. It seemed as if Stoinis had quarreled at home and come in to bat and took out all the anger on Bangalore bowlers and the ball. Agent Stoinis' successful operation took Delhi to 195," Sehwag said on his show 'Viru Ki Baithak'.

RCB captain Virat Kohli's decision to bat second backfired as they could only manage 137/9 in their 20 overs. Kohli's score of 43 off 39 deliveries was the highest score for them.

"I am looking for the misfortune haunting Bangalore. It's been haunting Cheeku's (Virat Kohli's) team for so long. It seemed like Bangalore was finally rid of it but it came back suddenly. Embarrassed Kohli's team in front of Delhi. Ruined all the fun. Shreya Iyer's Delhi has come on the top of the IPL 2020 points table", he said.

Sehwag compared Aaron Finch with 'Jay', and AB de Villiers to 'Veeru', the two lead characters from Bollywood movie 'Sholay'. He called Kohli 'Thakur' from the same movie, and said, "After Aaron Finch, Nortje got AB de Villiers. Then even Moeen Ali left. Having lost Jay, Veeru, and Chachaji (Moeen Ali), Cheeku's condition was again like Thakur from Sholay."

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for just 24 runs. "Rabada then got Virat Kohli and told then he showed all the other batsmen that he is not a bowler but a road roller.

"So, the moral of the story is that even though Virat Kohli is from Delhi but it was Delhi itself yesterday which confounded Kohli," Sehwag signed off.
