IPL 2020: Cricket fraternity lauds DC’s effort as Iyer-Shaw-Pant help them to 228/4 against KKR

DC made their second highest total in IPL.

Prithvi Shaw made a quick-fire 66 | IANSThe 16th match of the IPL 2020 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Sharjah in a mouth-watering clash. DC was asked to bat first after KKR captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss.

DC brought in Harshal Patel for Ishant Sharma and R Ashwin replaced Akshar Patel; while KKR benched Kuldeep Yadav to bring in Rahul Tripathi.

Shikhar Dhawan (26) and Prithvi Shaw (66) added 56 runs in 6 overs. Then Rishabh Pant hit 38 in 17 balls to give the DC innings impetus, but the best knock came from captain Shreyas Iyer himself as he hit 88* in 38 balls with 6 sixes and 7 fours to his name.

Delhi Capitals ended up making 228/4 in 20 overs. Andre Russell gave just 29 runs in his 4 overs and picked two wickets.

The Cricket fraternity lauded the Delhi innings and praised their batsmen for taking the team to such a huge total on Twitter.
