Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 37 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai yesterday night and registered their second win of the tournament.
Earlier Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shubman Gill and Sunil Narine gave a decent start of 36 runs. Narine got out off Unadkat bowling and Rana joined Gill at the crease and these two took the score to over 80 runs. Rana once again failed to convert his start and perished off Tewatia bowling for 22 runs.
Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill were dismissed by Jofra Archer in back to backovers. Andre Russell hit three sixes couldn't last long and in the end, Eoin Morgan's 34* helped Knight Riders to post a good total of 174/6 on the board.
In reply Rajasthan Royals had a very poor start and lost their in-form trio of Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson for just 39 runs. Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag, and Rahul Tewatia too couldn't do anything and Rajasthan reduced to 66/6 in the 11th over.
Tom Curran played a few good shots and his 54* runs fighting knock helped Rajasthan Royals to reduce the margin of loss and eventually Rajasthan finished on 137/9 and lost the match by 37 runs. For Knight Riders Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Varun Chakravarthy took 2 wickets each.
