Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Shubman Gill scored 70 unbeaten runs off 62 deliveries to help his team win their first win in IPL 2020. The Dinesh Karthik-led side chased the 143-run target comfortably after Gill took the responsibility in his hands.
Gill's unbeaten knock received applause on social media, and he was also awarded Man of the Match. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh dropped a cheeky response on his tweet after the match.
The youngster shared pictures from the match and expressed his delight after KKR's first victory. "Glad to get off the mark. @KKRiders", wrote Gill.

Yuvraj replied to him and asked about the bat. "Nice bat mr gill, who's bat is that?", wrote Singh, who has the record of fastest T20I fifty in 12 balls. The 21-year-old's response read, "You tell me paaji".
It seems like Shubman, whose bat is sponsored by Yuvraj's charitable foundation 'YouWeCan', was batting with the former India cricketer's gifted bat.
This was KKR's second match of the tournament and after getting defeated by Mumbai Indians, they needed to make a comeback. In a chase of 143 runs, Kolkata lost three wickets inside the first seven overs, but then Gill and Eoin Morgan (42*) ensured they chase down the target without further loss.
