IPL 2020: Twitterverse makes fun of Prithvi Shaw’s listless look during Ponting’s speech

Man of the Match against CSK, DC's Prithvi Shaw was sitting in a corner looking dejected | TwitterDelhi Capitals’ (DC) young opener Prithvi Shaw was the taste of their recent win over Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing IPL 2020 match. They beat CSK by 44 runs and the young opener was named the Player of the Match for his amazing half-century.

Shaw set the tone of the match with his 43-ball 64 with 9 fours and one six. He got support from Pant (37), Dhawan (35), and Iyer (26) as DC made 175/3 in 20 overs. In reply, CSK managed just 131/7 with Du Plessis top-scoring with 43, while Rabada (3/26), Nortje (2/21), and Akshar (1/18) shined with the ball.

DC head-coach Ricky Ponting, during the post-match dressing room speech, praised Shaw for his innings and highlighted his knock peppered with boundaries hit off good balls without taking any risk. He praised his back foot and front foot play and said that this should be his blueprint for the entire tournament and he doesn’t need to change anything.

The video gave a glimpse of Shaw during the speech and despite getting much deserved praise from his coach, his facial expressions displayed a look of listlessness. It seemed he was analyzing his innings in his head and didn’t seem happy with the way it went.
