The seventh match of the IPL 2020 saw Chennai Super Kings (CSK) failing to chase down a target once again, despite it being a reasonable one against Delhi Capitals (DC), in Dubai.
MS Dhoni won the toss and put DC into bat first. Prithvi Shaw (64), Shikhar Dhawan (35), Rishabh Pant (37*), and Shreyas Iyer (26) took the DC team to 175/3, a formidable total on a difficult pitch to bat on. Piyush Chawla picked 2/33, while Sam Curran also picked a wicket.

In reply, the CSK top order just didn’t get going in the chase with Shane Watson (14), M Vijay (10), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (5) disappointing the most. Faf du Plessis played a brilliant knock of 43, while Dhoni batted at 6 and made 15 runs.
For DC, Kagiso Rabada picked 3/26 and Anrich Nortje (2/21) were the best bowlers in the 44-run win.
The cricket fraternity reacted to the dismal performance from three-time champions CSK and lauded DC’s winning spirit on Twitter.
