IPL 2020: IPL franchises express condolences on Dean Jones' death

Jones was active as an analyst for Star Sports dug out during MI v KKR IPL 2020 match.

Social media and the cricketing world were taken aback by the news of commentator and ex-cricketer Dean Jones' demise. The former Australia batsman was part of StarSports' Dugout analyst panel and was active during the recent IPL 2020 match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises reacted to the news of Jones' death. As per reports, the 59-year-old died due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai. Apart from the franchises, the official Twitter account of IPL also posted a tweet expressing their condolence.

"We are extremely shocked and sad to learn of the untimely demise of Mr. Dean Jones. His energy and enthusiasm for the game will be truly missed. Our thoughts with his family, friends, and his followers in this hour of grief,"  the official Twitter account of IPL posted.

Jones, who made his ODI debut in 1984, was part of Australia's 1987 World Cup-winning team.
