Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) played an intrasquad match in which Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal captained the sides. Team Chahal had AB de Villiers, who scored 43 runs in the match.

Before De Villiers walked out to open the innings with youngster Devdutt Padikkal, Chahal jokingly passed on some batting tips to him.

RCB's insider Danish Sait interviewed the players before the match and captured the moment when Chahal had a chat with the Proteas star cricketer. He told De Villiers to make sure the elbow “will go straight” and to “watch the ball till the end.”

De Villiers said he is ready to bat whenever the captain demands. “I didn't know I was going to open. I just put my pads on because I wanted to be a good player for my captain – to show him that I am always ready no matter what happens,” he said.

Team Chahal posted 125 while batting first, and Washinton Sundar was the pick of the bowlers for Team Kohli. In reply, the Kohli-led side couldn't chase down the target on a tough track. Uncapped left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed picked up 3 wickets for 13 runs for Team Chahal.
