The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side has a strong squad for IPL 2020 and will be hopeful of getting their maiden IPL title in the UAE. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir believes that all-rounder Chris Morris will bring balance to their side and can help them go all the way.

Gambhir said in a Star Sports' show, "Chris Morris provides balance to the RCB squad, a quality all-rounder although he has not played much cricket. He can be a finisher as a batsman and can also give you 4 overs and bowl at the death."

"They have Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal as well but it will have to be seen which 4 overseas players RCB picks in their XI," he added.

Chris Morris has played 61 IPL matches so far and has picked 69 wickets. He has bowled 214 overs averaging over 3 overs per game which proves that he can be given the responsibility of bowling 4 overs regularly during IPL 2020. With the bat, Morris has played 39 innings and has scored517 runs at an impressive strike rate of 157.62.

Gambhir believes that RCB is still batting-heavy but the bowlers will have the advantage of not playing 7 games at the N Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The bigger grounds in UAE will aid the bowlers well.

The 38-year-old said, "I still feel that RCB looks a little batting-heavy. But one thing that you will see a little different is that the bowlers will be happy because they will not have to play 7 matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. You will be playing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi which probably have bigger grounds, wickets are not as flat as Chinnaswamy."

"It is always difficult to judge the bowlers from Chinnaswamy’s point of view. India’s smallest ground and the flattest wicket are in Chinnaswamy, so bowlers will be happier and you might see a better performance from bowlers like Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini," he added.

RCB will begin their IPL 2020 campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on 21 September.
