The thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League, also called the IPL 2020 was supposed to commence this March but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was suspended, and finally, this season is set to begin on 19th September in UAE.
As usual, eight teams are taking part in it. Defending champions Mumbai Indians are once again the favorites to win the title and other teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore too are expected to give a good fight.
Kolkata Knight Riders - champions of IPL 2012 and IPL 2014 will be eyeing their third IPL title this time. In the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik and coaching of Brendon McCullum, they have added a few good players to their already existing good squad.
In the batting department, they have Shubhman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Rahul Tripathi, Tom Banton, and Eoin Morgan. In the pace bowling attack, they have got Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson, and Indian talents like Prasidh Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, and Sandeep Warrier.
And in the spin department, they have Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, and Chris Green. Thus they have also had a balanced squad and will be confident to challenge for the title.
