IPL 2020: 5 young Indian faces who could impress in the upcoming IPL

The IPL 2020 begins from September 19 in UAE.

DEVDUTT PADIKKAL (RCB)

Devdutt PadikkalKarnataka’s young opener Devdutt Padikkal has been making the right kind of noises ever since he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2019 auction. Though he is yet to play a game for the franchise, the southpaw has made enough runs in impressive fashion to make the RCB management take notice of his talent.

IPL 2020: "He always keeps the team ahead of him" - Padikkal on learnings from Kohli

In his first full-fledged domestic season, Devdutt Padikkal was Karnataka's top run-getter (1838 runs) across all formats. He also hit the most sixes-33 in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He averages 59.09 in List-A games with 650 runs in 13 matches with two centuries, while in 12 T20 matches, he has 580 runs at an average of 64.44 with one century and five fifties to his name.

With the possibility of AB de Villiers keeping wickets, RCB will have an open spot at the opening slot and Padikkal has definitely thrown his name in the hat for that position in the upcoming IPL 2020.
