As Delhi Capitals’ bunch landed Dubai on Friday (August 20), India and DC’s young yet talented batsman Prithvi Shaw is looking forward to making the most of the training sessions available in the UAE.
The 13th edition of the IPL 2020 will be held at the bio-secure Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah from 19 September – 10 November under all COVID-19 guidelines in a wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Given the Coronavirus outbreak, almost all the IPL teams have reached the UAE around one month before the start of the tournament and Shaw is excited to gelling with his team-mates and some of the new players at the DC before setting sight on the T20 league.
As per ESPNcricinfo, Shaw said before leaving for the UAE: “We know people have a lot of expectations from us, but our focus will be on making the most of the training sessions we get in the UAE and re-creating that fantastic team environment which made us so successful last year. We also have the chance to gel with the new players and then set our sights on the IPL season.”
The 20-year-old also admitted that the IPL 2020 will be challenging after having spent the past 4-5 months dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shaw signed off by saying, “We have spent the past 4-5 months dealing with this pandemic, so everyone is aware of all the dos and don’ts. We all have been preparing mentally to live and play under such circumstances, and taking all necessary precautions for our safety and well-being.”
