Vijay Shankar has revealed that there has been no contact from his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad regarding the future of the tournament.

The world is under lockdown due to the widespread pandemic Coronavirus. Over 21,000 people lost their lives so far and the numbers are still showing increasing trends. As a result, almost all of the major sports tournaments have been either postponed or canceled.

The richest T20 league in the world, IPL, has currently been shifted until April 15. However, given that the whole country of India will be under lockdown till April 14, there are very little hopes of the tournament going ahead as planned.

In all of this, SRH cricketer Vijay Shankar has revealed that his franchise has not given any updates to its players.

IPL 2020: BCCI to see how COVID-19 pandemic situation evolves before taking decision on IPL 13

Shankar told Khel Now, “No message, nothing. But things don’t look promising at this point and it would be too early to comment upon anything. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait.

A meeting was supposed to take place between concerned authorities on the future of IPL 2020, but the meeting was postponed as there was nothing concrete planned. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has also revealed that there are no confirmed updates about the tournament yet.

I am sitting at home and doing nothing. I am not thinking much about the IPL or cricket in general because things are pretty scary these days due to the coronavirus outbreak,” Vijay Shankar said.

The news about the condition of people in Italy and other parts of the world is disappointing, and I right now, all I am thinking about is staying safe at home and do whatever in the comfort of my home,” he added.
