After Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pakistan cricketers have come forward to do their bit to help the government in this critical time, as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the world and now South Asian countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh are badly coming into its vile grip.

While many countries have announced lockdown to prevent the spread of the deadly COVID-19, the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is not ready for the same despite the country has recorded more than 1,000 positive cases of this fast-growing virus, saying they don’t effort the ‘lockdown’.

The statement clearly shows that Pakistan is not capable to survive with the lockdown and they have to fight the pandemic according to their situation and in this situation, many personalities including Shahid Afridi have been coming forward to help the government and need in this crisis.

Well, after the PCB, who has recently given its Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre to the government for the paramedical staff working at the special coronavirus hospital set up at the expo center in Karachi, Pakistan’s centrally-contracted players announced to donate Rs 5 million to the Pakistan government’s emergency fund to fight the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ehsan Mani on Wednesday also announced that the board employees, up to the senior manager level, will contribute their one day’s salary, while general managers or on higher posts will give two days’ salary to the government’s coronavirus fund to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per reports in PTI, Mani said: “The PCB will collect all these funds and deposit it to the government’s coronavirus fund. It is the history of the cricket board that we always stand by the government in difficult times.”

Noteworthy, Pakistan’s centrally-contracted players get monthly salaries ranging from Rs 5 to 12 lakh besides match fees and other earnings from the PCB.
