Eoin Morgan last played in IPL in 2017 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, but his full potential in the IPL was never realized despite him playing since 2010. He played the full tournament only once in 2013, but after winning the 2019 World Cup for England and taking the team to the pinnacle of ICC ODI team rankings, he was in demand during the IPL 2020 auction. The KKR team bid hard for the England captain and got him for 5.25 crores in the end.
