The IPL 2020 festival has begun with all the eight franchises announcing their retained and released players for the upcoming season. The players, who have been retained, will not be a part of the mega player auction, slated to be held in Kolkata on December 19.

The latest team to reveal the list is Delhi Capitals, retaining 12 and releasing as many as 9 players from their last year’s squad.

Among the list of players retained by DC include Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kagiso Rabada, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel and Harshal Patel.

On the other hand, DC let go Hanuma Vihari, Jalaj Saxena, Manjot Kalra, Ankush Bains, Nathu Singh, Bandaru Ayappa, Chris Morris, Colin Ingram, Colin Munro.

The Delhi-based franchise had earlier traded veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for INR 1.5 crore and left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith from Kings XI Punjab, while they brought in Ajinkya Rahane from Rajasthan Royals and in return gave them Mayank Markande and Rahul Tewatia.

Besides, Kiwi speedster Trent Boult was also traded to Mumbai Indians.
