Shikhar Dhawan guided Delhi Capitals to a seven wickets win over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and with this win, Delhi is also back in top four in the points table.

Earlier Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first. Ishant Sharma gave a perfect start by removing debutant Joe Denly on the first ball of the innings. Shubman Gill and Robin Uthappa's 63 runs partnership brought Knight Riders back on the track.

Shubman Gill continued playing his shots and also brought up his first fifty of the season and played 65 runs knock before getting out. Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik too got out cheaply but the inform Andre Russell's 45 runs off just 21 balls innings helped Knight Riders to post a good total of 178/7.

In the reply, Delhi Capitals started off well and openers gave a 32 runs start in just 3 overs. Prithvi Shaw couldn't convert his start but Shikhar Dhawan was rock solid at his end and was scoring boundaries for fun and his 105 runs partnership with Rishabh Pant set the match for his team and eventually in the 19th over Delhi chased down the target. Shikhar Dhawan was named Man of the Match for his 97* runs knock.
