The three-time IPL winning captain Rohit Sharma was praised by former England captain Michael Vaughan. Vaughan was very impressed with the way Rohit captained his side against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to defend 136.
Mumbai Indians (MI) could only manage 136/7 after Hyderabad pitch didn't let the batsman score freely. It was an outstanding effort by SRH bowlers as well. However, they couldn't stop Kieron Pollard in the last two overs, who changed the game with his 46* (26).
Sunrisers were worse when it was their turn to chase. The openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow tried to accelerate in the powerplay, MI came back strong and bowled the home side on just 96 runs. It was Alzarri Joseph's 6/12 which broke SRH's back and Rohit was spot on with his tactics and bowling rotations.
No wonder Vaughan lauded him on Twitter and wrote, "Rohit Sharma is a very very good captain .... #IPL2019".
