Kings XI Punjab showed a lot of promise in the first half of the tournament in 2018 with early wins in first few matches, but still managed to finish second last in the points table, under the new captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin.

DC made a big splash by trading in homeboy Shikhar Dhawan from SRH in exchange for three Indian players and have retained a total of 14 players. They have Rs 25.50 crore in their purse to fill their remaining 10 slots in the team.
