December 18, 2018, will see the IPL 2019 auction take place in Jaipur which will see a total of 346 cricketers vying for 70 available slots in the eight Indian Premier League (IPL) teams.
Originally, 1003 players had registered for the auction, but the names were shortlisted after the franchises submitted the shortlist of players. Unlike last time, when the auction was a whole two-day affair, this time the auction will be a one-day affair given the 70 spots available, and the auction will be officiated by a new gavel master in Hugh Edmeades, who has the experience of more than 30 years in the field and is also an independent fine art, classic car, and charity auctioneer.
