Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) visited Hyderabad to face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 22, 2026, to play the 67th game of the IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium. Pat Cummins, SRH captain, won the toss and chose to bat first.
SRH batters went hard on the leather, as Abhishek Sharma made 56 in 22 balls and Travis Head made 26 in 16, adding 45 runs in 4 overs for the first wicket. Then Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen got together to add 113 runs for the third wicket. Klaasen made 51, while Kishan fell for 79 runs, while Nitish Reddy slammed 29* in 12 balls to propel SRH to 255/4 in 20 overs.
RCB openers Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli replied in kind, adding 60 runs in 4.3 overs for the first wicket. The main destroyer was Iyer, who made 44 in 19 balls, and he took a special liking to Shivang Kumar, hammering him for 23 runs in one over.
During this over, Virat Kohli and Travis Head were seen engaging in some banter. Kohli had celebrated wildly when Head had gotten out, and Australia likely said something to the Indian batter that triggered him.
Kohli was seen gesturing towards Head to come and bowl an over and even called him over for a talk, showing the X mark. Travis Head didn’t say much, just made some faces at Kohli.
