Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) clashed on May 14, 2026, in Dharamshala in the IPL 2026. Mumbai Indians, captained by Jasprit Bumrah in this game, won the toss and chose to bowl first.
PBKS got a good start as Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (57) took on the bowlers. Cooper Conolly made 21, but then MI came back in the game, until Azmatullah Omarzai (38), Vishnu Vinod (15*), and Xavier Bartlett (18*) took PBKS to 200/8 in 20 overs.
Rohit Sharma struggled for rhythm, scoring 25 in 26 balls, but Ryan Rickelton hammered 48 in 23 balls with 4 sixes and 4 fours. Naman Dhir (4) and Sherfane Rutherford (20) kept Tilak Varma company as he helped MI inch towards a probable victory.
But MI saw the win clearly when Will Jacks joined Varma and smashed 25* in 10 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. But it was Tilak Varma, who played a scintillating knock of 75* in 33 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes. Tilak started with a huge 106-meter six off Yuzvendra Chahal, and the floodgates opened for MI.
MI needed 50 runs to win in the last 18 balls, and Varma and Jacks scored 22 runs in the 18th over, bowled by Marco Jansen, to set the tone. Arshdeep Singh conceded 13 runs in the 19th over. Then Xavier Bartlett was unable to defend 15 runs in the final over.
Jacks and Tilak were brutal in their shot making and ensured no bad and even good balls were spared.
