Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) visited Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 8, 2026, for match 51 of the IPL 2026. This game was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC were looking for a win to get back on the path of playoff qualification, while KKR wanted to continue their winning ways.
Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose that KKR would bowl first. The pitch proved to be a tricky one as DC was reduced to 89/5 in 11 overs. Pathum Nissanka made 50, Ashutosh Sharma made 39, and KL Rahul made 23 as DC only managed 142/8 in 20 overs.
In response, KKR lost Ajinkya Rahane (13) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi for 1 run in quick succession. But Finn Allen took the DC bowlers apart in a brutal display of batting. He smashed 5 fours and 10 sixes as he smashed 100* in 47 balls.
He received good support from Cameron Green, who made 33* with 2 sixes and ensured KKR won the game with 8 wickets in hand and 34 balls remaining.
Finn Allen was in tremendous form, coming to bat as an impact sub. He was slow to get off the mark with 20 runs in his first 18 balls, but then he hammered 80 runs in his next 29 balls. His last 55 runs came off just 16 balls as DC bowlers had nowhere to hide.
