The BCCI Men’s Selection Committee on Wednesday (September 16) announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming five-T20I series against the West Indies, starting October 6 in Lucknow.
The T20I squad is mirror image of the Asian Games squad barring a few notable changes. Jasprit Bumrah, who will lead India’s pace attack in the continental event, has been rested for the West Indies series.
The squad features Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan as top-order batting options, while the middle-order includes captain Shreyas Iyer and his deputy Tilak Varma.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shivam Dube are the seam-bowling all-rounders in the lineup. On the other hand, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are there as spin-bowling all-rounders.
With Varun Chakaravarthy being injured, Kuldeep Yadav has earned a T20I recall. The left-arm wrist-spinner will lead the spin attack alongside Ravi Bishnoi. Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav will look after the pace department.
