India skipper Rohit Sharma is one of the most popular cricketers in the country and worldwide. Fans adore him for his batting as well as his humorous character.
He is currently leading India in the ongoing Test series against New Zealand at home. Ahead of the second Test in Pune, a video of Rohit went viral on social media, in which he can be seen signing an autograph for an ardent fan who had been waiting patiently to catch a glimpse of him.
The moment unfolded when Rohit was on his way to the dressing room after an intense training session at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. He graciously obliged a fan’s request for an autograph and also agreed to convey a special message on her behalf.
As the fan asked Rohit to pass along a message to Virat Kohli, saying, “Tell him his biggest fan came here”, the Indian captain smiled and assured that he would fulfill her wish.
Here’s the video:
Having lost the opening Test by eight wickets, Team India are trailing 0-1 in the three-match Test series against New Zealand. The Rohit Sharma-led side is now under extreme pressure to bounce back and clinch the series 2-1 to stay ahead in the World Test Championship (WTC) final race.
On Sunday (October 20), the selectors added spin all-rounder Washington Sundar to the Indian Test squad. This inclusion is curious given that the home team already has Axar Patel as the fourth spinner in addition to R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav.
Meanwhile, reports are claiming that a slow turning pitch is likely to be served for the second Test. In such a scenario, the Indian team management is likely to go with three specialist spinners.
