India Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma has begun preparation for the upcoming three-Test series against New Zealand. This series is set to begin from October 16 onwards. Rohit had recently led India to a majestic 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh at home.
The victory against Bangladesh helped India strengthen its position at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. They have 74.24 PCT% now. Defending champion Australia is in 2nd place with 62.50 PCT%.
The two finalists of the 2023 WTC are followed by Sri Lanka (55.56 PCT%), England (42.19 PCT%), South Africa (38.89 PCT%), and New Zealand (37.50 PCT%).
After a few days of rest, Rohit Sharma went to Mumbai's Reliance Corporate Park Cricket Ground to train, but was surrounded by a large crowd of cricket enthusiasts.
However, when the Indian captain was exiting the facility after sweating it out, a massive crowd of supporters surrounded him to take photographs and signatures. Rohit could also be heard begging the spectators to slow down and leave the field.
