Rohit Sharma was all praises for the youngsters in his team like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel after India won the third Test of the five-match series against England. The Indian team registered a massive 434-run win, their biggest in Test history via runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered 214* in the second innings, his second consecutive double ton in the series. Sarfaraz Khan made 62 and 68* in his debut Test, while Dhruv Jurel made 46 and impressed with his keeping in second innings. Especially, his runout of Ben Duckett was the highlight of the England collapse.
Chasing the target, England’s innings folded for a paltry 122 in 39.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball, returning with a five-wicket haul to ensure India’s biggest victory in Test cricket (in terms of runs).
Rohit Sharma not only praised the youngsters in the post-match presser but shared a hilarious message on social media as well. He posted a collage of Jurel running out Duckett and Sarfaraz celebrating Jaiswal’s double ton on his Instagram story.
He captioned: “Ye aajkal ke bacche.”
"Obviously it's a very good feeling to win a game like that and especially with such a young team as well. (We had) two debutants (Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel) and not a lot of Test matches amongst the playing eleven as well. A lot of these guys are learning from the experience that they're having in the middle. We got to learn a lot about how we played in Hyderabad and then in Vizag when we won,” Rohit told media after the Test.
