IND v ENG 2024: WATCH - R Ashwin, Jonny Bairstow involve in a heated verbal spat on Day 4 of Vizag Test

R Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow | XR Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow were involved in a heated verbal spat exchange of words on Day 4 of the ongoing second Test between India and England in Visakhapatnam.

The incident took place at the stroke of Lunch after ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah trapped Bairstow LBW with a nip-backer.

As the on-field umpire raised his finger, Bairstow opted for a review. However, the ball-tracking technology confirmed that the ball would've clipped leg stump and the English batter had to walk back to the pavilion for 26.

As he was making his way back to the dressing room, Ashwin erupted in an animated celebration and showed his aggression in front of Bairstow.

Ashwin’s act led to a fiery reaction from Bairstow, who said some words to the former. The cameras also caught the off-spinner saying something to the England cricketer.

Coming to the match, England are chasing 399 in the fourth innings of the Vizag Test against India.

The visitors were 67/1 in 14 overs at stumps on Day 3 but lost five wickets in the morning session on the subsequent day to find themselves reeling at 194/6.
