Indian batter Shreyas Iyer showcased his fielding prowess with a spectacular running catch backwards to dismiss Zak Crawley, who was posing a threat to the Indian bowlers in the ongoing second Test against England in Visakhapatnam.

Crawley, who was looking dangerous and had already scored a brisk 76 off 77 deliveries, mistimed a shot against Akshar Patel as the ball headed towards the backward point.

While trying to assert his dominance on the crease, Crawley charged down the pitch to face a full delivery from Akshar. However, the spinner's change in line outfoxed Crawley.

Despite the difficulty of the catch, Shreyas Iyer demonstrated exceptional athleticism, swiftly moving backwards and executing a perfectly timed dive to take the catch to ensure Crawley’s dismissal.

The catch highlighted Crawley's vulnerability against left-arm orthodox spin in Asian conditions, as this marked his eighth dismissal against such spinners. But Iyer’s remarkable fielding hogged the limelight, as Team India got its second success against England in Visakhapatnam.

Notably, this catch, in some ways, reminded the fans of the dismissal of Rohit Sharma in the 2023 World Cup Final against Australia, as Travis Head did something similar to Iyer to get rid of the Indian skipper.
