IND v ENG 2024: WATCH - Yashasvi Jaiswal leaps in air to rejoice his maiden double hundred in Test cricket

Yashasvi Jaiswal | BCCIIndia opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his dominance over the England bowling attack as he notched up his maiden double century in the longest format of the game on Day 2 of the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Resuming his innings on 179*, the southpaw reached the double ton mark within the first half an hour. He got there with a six and boundary off debutant English spinner Shoaib Bashir.

It took him 277 deliveries to bring up the double hundred in what was his sixth Test for India. The 22-year-old was jubilant after accomplishing the milestone as he jumped and punched the air in celebration.  

Taking to social media platform X, BCCI shared a video of his celebration with the caption, “That Leap. That Celebration. That Special Feeling. Here's how Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up his Double Hundred”.

Jaiswal was eventually dismissed by veteran England pacer James Anderson for 209 off 290 balls. His knock was studded with 19 fours and 7 sixes.

With this innings, the left-handed opener also became the third youngest Indian to get a double hundred after Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar
