IND v ENG 2024: WATCH - Ollie Pope plays audacious lap shot over wicketkeeper’s head to hit a boundary against Jadeja

Ollie Pope slammed a brilliant century on Day 3 of the Hyderabad Test against India.

Ollie Pope | XOllie Pope put on a show with the bat to keep England’s hopes alive in the ongoing Test match against India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

After conceding a first-innings lead of 190 runs, England were struggling at 165/5 in their second essay. Just when the visitors were staring at innings defeat, Pope stepped up to the plate.

The right-hander batted aggressively to put the Indian bowlers on the backfoot. He added 112 runs for the sixth wicket with Ben Foakes to ensure that the tourists were in the lead.

While Foakes got out after scoring 34, Ollie Pope held the one end firmly. He stayed unbeaten on 148 off 208 balls to take England to 316/6 at stumps on Day 3, extending the second-innings lead to 126 runs.

Pope’s unbeaten knock was studded with 17 fours, and the highlight of his innings was the boundary he hit against Ravindra Jadeja.

In the third delivery of the 70th over, Jadeja bowled a quicker delivery at the stumps and Pope bent down low to execute a lap shot over the keeper’s head for a boundary.
