England team reached Hyderabad on Sunday (January 21) and checked into their hotel rooms ahead of the first Test against India. The five-match series between the two teams will commence on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

Though England was the last team to win a Test series in India in 2012, they lost by 4-0 and 3-1 margins during their previous two tours of India in 2016 and 2021.

England already had a setback as Harry Brook flew back home from Abu Dhabi due to personal reasons and will miss the series. They called up Dan Lawrence to replace him in the squad.

The Ben Stokes-led side has adopted the bazball strategy of batting aggressively irrespective of the pitch and the bowling attack. Fans and experts are waiting for the battle of England batters and Indian spinners in Indian conditions and whether the famed bazball will work.

The squad includes debutants Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir, both of whom were part of the England Lions squad that underwent training in the United Arab Emirates last month.
