IND v BAN 2024: “It was like hooliganism,” Aakash Chopra impressed by Hardik Pandya’s batting display in Bangladesh T20Is

Hardik amassed 118 runs from three T20Is at an incredible strike-rate of 222.64. He also claimed one wicket after bowling seven overs in the series.

In the final T20I at Hyderabad, Hardik played a blistering cameo of 18-ball 47 after Sanju Samson (111 off 47) and Suryakumar Yadav (75 off 35) put the team in a commanding position with their massive 173-run stand off 70 balls.

While India piled up a record 297/6 in their allotted 20 overs, they restricted Bangladesh to 164/7 to win the match by a huge margin of 133 runs.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra hailed Pandya while also recalling his personal and professional struggles earlier this year.

"Hardik Pandya was the Player of the Series. He has seen the lows of lows in his personal and professional life, getting booed - everything has happened. His batting in all three matches, he has played few balls but always with a strike rate above 200. I thought he was absolutely sensational,” said Chopra.

Further speaking ahead, Aakash Chopra highlighted Hardik Pandya’s sheer dominance with the bat in this series, calling it an insult to the Bangladeshi bowlers.

“His swag is different. It was like hooliganism. He hit a six over cover and a no-look one-handed six on the leg side... He is batting differently. It was almost like insulting the bowlers, as though they don’t have any status at all,” Chopra remarked.

Hardik Pandya will be keen to continue his brilliant run of form in the upcoming T20I tour of South Africa, starting on November 8 in Durban.
