IND v AFG 2024: WATCH – Team India arrive in Bengaluru for third and final T20I against Afghanistan

The hosts won the second T20I by six wickets in Indore on Sunday (January) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

A day after clinching the series, Rohit Sharma and his men travelled to Bengaluru for the series finale and BCCI shared a video of the team’s journey on social media.

Apart from skipper Rohit, the likes of Shubman Gill, Yashashvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, Akshar Patel, Ravi Bishoni, Jitesh Sharma, Tilak Varma among others featured in the video.

Surprisingly, star batter Virat Kohli didn’t appear in the video, which showed the Indian cricketers receiving a rousing reception upon their arrival at the Bengaluru airport and the team hotel.

Coming to the second T20I, India restricted Afghanistan to 172/10 in 20 overs on a batting-friendly surface. Gulbadin Naib was the top scorer for the visitors with 57 off 35 balls.

Akshar Patel starred with the ball for India, returning with the figures of 2/17 in his four overs. Arshdeep Singh (3/32) and Ravi Bishnoi (2/39) shared five scalps between them.

In reply, the home team rode on swashbuckling half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (68 off 34) and Shivam Dube (63* off 32) to overhaul the target with 26 deliveries to spare.
