India skipper Virat Kohli, who starred with the bat in the just-concluded T20I series against West Indies which the hosts won 2-1, has entered into the top 10 of ICC T20I rankings for batsmen.
In the latest rankings released on Thursday (December 12), Kohli made a move of five slots to attain the 10th position.
Virat made 94 not out in the first T20I at Hyderabad before scoring 19 in the second game at Thiruvananthapuram. Batting in the series decider, the Indian captain took the Caribbean bowling attack to the cleaners en route his 70 not out off 29 balls.
Apart from Kohli, India opener KL Rahul jumped by three spots to No. 6. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, Rahul opened the innings against West Indies and registered the scores of 40-ball 62, 11-ball 11 and 56-ball 91 in three T20Is.
Meanwhile, India vice-captain Rohit Sharma has moved down by a spot and is now placed at the 9th position in ICC T20I batting rankings. The 32-year-old, who became the first Indian to hit 400 international sixes in this series, amassed 94 runs in three T20Is against Kieron Pollard's men.
Both Kohli and Rohit are leading run-scorers in the shortest format, currently tied at 2633 runs each. While the Indian skipper has accumulated these runs in 70 innings at an average of 52.66, his deputy has taken 96 innings to achieve the same at an average of 32.10 with four centuries.
