Indian team dished out a clinical performance on Wednesday, December 11, to secure a 2-1 win the three-match T20I series against the West Indies at Wankhede Stadium, in Mumbai.

This victory was a special one for Team India and its captain Virat Kohli, as the Men in Blue usually don't fare well while batting first in T20 cricket, but there was a completely different picture at Wankhede Stadium, as the hosts were fabulously dominated the West Indies.

In the first ten overs, India had already decided the fate the match with their astonishing batting display to secure only second victory at Wankhede Stadium off seven last played matches here while batting first at the venue in the shortest format of the game.

Later, India’s strong bowling performance didn’t allow the tourists to build up any partnership in the series decider, eventually, the combined bowling efforts ensure the hosts to win the match by 67 runs to clinch the 3-match T20I series in Mumbai.

While saying the series victory was not really surprising for him, former India captain said the biggest positive takeaway from the West Indies series was that no player in the team played for personal achievements, but always put the interests of the team above individual goals.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Ganguly wrote: “Not many expected india to lose a series .. win was not a surprise .. what will stand out is the fearless batting which all will see in T20 now ..play without fear .. no one plays for his place but plays to win ..well done india.”

Meanwhile, Kohli also lauded the team’s approach, saying: “We had spoken a lot (about batting first and winning). It was about going out there and executing. I was in the zone and I carried on.”

He signed off by, “Told KL, he needs to bat long and hold one end. It was a pretty special inning and also being our second wedding anniversary, it was a special gift. It was a special night and one of the best innings I have played. And batting first we won, feels really good.”
