India and West Indies faced off each other in the third ODI of the series at the MCA Stadium in Pune. This match comes after the thrilling tie in Vizag, where Shai Hope’s brilliant unbeaten century enabled Windies to avoid a close loss.

Hope was also the mainstay of the Windies team in the third ODI as well, as he compiled a brilliant 95 off 113 balls with 3 sixes and 6 fours. Shimron Hetmyer scored 37 and Ashley Nurse provided the last overs fireworks with 40 off 22 balls.

Thanks to their aid, Windies piled up 283/9 in their 50 overs.

Hope was looking good for yet another ODI century as he was calmly compiling run after run and taking the Windies towards the score of 320 plus. However, the best India bowler in the match, Jasprit Bumrah, who took 4/35 in his 10 overs; came up with a searing yorker to shatter his stumps and Shai’s hopes of a century.

The ball made Hope lose his balance, as he was more interested in keeping his toes out of harm and was clean bowled.
