Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan showered praises on Virat Kohli for his leadership skills. Pathan is happy with the way Kohli gives opportunities to the youngsters.
The India skipper recently led the team to another series win against Sri Lanka. The team for the 3rd T20I featured Sanju Samson in the side after a long gap of more than four years. The 25-year-old was sent to bat at number three position. At number four, Manish Pandey, another batsman who is looking for opportunities, came out to bat.
Number 3 and 4 is where Kohli usually bats. But the skipper decided to move down in the batting order to provide a platform to two youngsters. Fans had to wait for Virat's batting as he came out at number six, after Shreyas Iyer's dismissal.
Pathan seemed impressed with Kohli's moves and he called him a 'proper leader'. The ex-India all-rounder wrote, "Being a captain is one thing, being a leader is another & @imVkohli is proper I mean a proper leader who gives away his own position to promote youngsters and build a team #Kudos #leader."
India scored 201/6 in the last T20I. Manish Pandey added an unbeaten 31 to the total, while Samson failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Although he started with a six, the youngster was dismissed on the second ball. India won the match by 78 runs, and series by 2-0.
