India and South Africa cricketers reached Pune to play the second Test of the three-match series at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The highly-anticipated Test will get underway from Thursday (October 10).

Team India continued their dominance in red-ball cricket, recording an emphatic 203-run victory in the Test series opener against South Africa in Visakhapatnam.

By virtue of this win, Virat Kohli and company also secured a 1-0 lead and will now look to wrap up the series in Pune itself. On the other hand, the Proteas will hope for a win in order to force the series into decider in Ranchi.

Amid the buzz, the two sets of players arrived at the Pune airport on Monday (October 7) and will start their preparations from Tuesday.

There were quite a few stars for India in the Vizag Test win. With the bat, openers Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal did a great job. While Rohit became the first-ever batsman to score hundreds (176 & 127) in each innings of his maiden Test as an opener, Agarwal registered his maiden double ton (215) in the first essay.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (7/145) and pacer Mohammad Shami (5/35) shined with the ball in the first and second innings respectively. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja too had an impactful outing, taking 6 wickets and scoring 70 runs across the two innings.
