Team India completed a brilliant victory over the Proteas on the fifth day of the first Test. The man of the match Rohit Sharma appeared for the post-match press conference and replied to the journalists in his typical witty manner.
Rohit Sharma opened the innings for Team India in Tests for the first time and scored centuries in each innings. He was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ trophy for his 176 and 127. We saw another brilliant performance on Day 5. It was from the pacer who is known for his wicket-taking ability in the second innings, Mohammad Shami.
Shami bowled brilliantly to the top order nipping out Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock all bowled. He came in to take the final two wickets after lunch as he dismissed Dane Piedt and Kagiso Rabada.
Rohit was speaking about Shami’s ability with the ball especially when he is fresh. He said, “We all know when Shami is fresh, what he can do! (brief pause) Along with some biryani”
The official Instagram handle of the Indian cricket team posted the video with the caption, "Expect the Hitman to come up with such gems. This one is for Shami".
The answer made the journalists laugh just like all the fans!
