IND v ENG 2021: Cricket fraternity reacts as Virat Kohli’s explosive 77* takes India to 156/6 in 3rd T20I

The five-T20I series stands 1-1 after two matches.

Eoin Morgan, playing his 100th T20I won the toss and put India in to bat first. India made one change with Rohit Sharma coming in for Suryakumar Yadav, while England called back Mark Wood.

Wood immediately made an impact, removing KL Rahul for a duck, while he got the wicket of Rohit Sharma for 15 runs. This was KL Rahul’s second straight duck in T20Is, becoming the first Indian opener to do so.

Virat Kohli then almost single-handedly started taking India towards a decent total, against a disciplined England bowling. Rishabh Pant made 25 in 20 balls but was run out. Hardik Pandya struggled to time his shots but contributed 17 runs with 2 sixes.

However, Kohli remained unbeaten on 77 in 46 balls with 4 sixes and 8 fours to his name at a strike rate of 167.39. India made 156/6 thanks to his second consecutive half-century.

Mark Wood finished with figures of 3/31, while Chris Jordan took 2/35 for England.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Kohli’s captain innings and taking India to a fighting total.
