After his heroics in the recently-concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna is likely to receive his maiden call-up to the Indian ODI squad for the upcoming series against England.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Krishna, who claimed 14 wickets in the domestic 50-over tournament, will be part of the fast bowling department alongside Mohammed Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur.
Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who tied the marriage knot on March 15, is likely to skip the series after being granted extended leave.
Krunal Pandya, who has featured in 18 T20Is for India so far, is also expected to be named in the ODI squad. The Baroda all-rounder too had a good run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021, where he slammed two unbeaten centuries and two half-centuries.
However, two of the top performers of the tournament – Mumbai's Prithvi Shaw and Karnataka's Devdutt Padikkal – are likely to be left out as the opening slots are not vacant currently.
As per the report, the selectors are believed to go ahead with the likes of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma.
Akin to the batsmen, the best bowlers of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 – Uttar Pradesh’s Shivam Sharma (21 wickets) and Gujarat’s Arzan Nagwaswalla (19 wickets) – are likely to be overlooked.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, who has resumed training after recovering from a thumb injury, will not be considered for selection due to fitness issues.
The three-match ODI series between India and England is slated to be held in Pune from March 23 to March 28.
