India captain Virat Kohli unintentionally hit England skipper Joe Root in the lower abdomen during the third day of the fourth Test. He then quickly went to Root and had a chat while giving a fist bump.
The incident happened during the 18th over of England's second innings. Root was well inside the crease and Kohli, after collecting the ball, threw the ball towards the wicket-keeper's end with no intention to hit the batsman.
Unfortunate for Root, the ball took an awkward bounce and hit him on the box. A hurt English captain shouted "come on Virat" before Kohli came to him and apologized.
Here's the video:
Hindi commentator Aakash Chopra can be heard saying "you can't trust the bounce" on-air in the clip. The third-day pitch has been a tough one for England batsman as they lost six wickets on 91 runs, struggling to avoid an innings defeat with 69 runs more to cover up, till the Tea break.
On the other hand, India put England on the backfoot with a big lead of 160 runs in the first innings. They scored 365 runs with the help of Rishabh Pant's hundred and Washington Sundar's 96* runs knock.
