IND v ENG 2021: "Will miss being at the stadium," tweets Sourav Ganguly before third Test in Ahmedabad

The newly rebuilt Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad is hosting the pink ball Test between India and England.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly rues not being able to attend the opening day of the third Test match between India and England at the newly rebuilt Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The stadium is hosting its first international match after getting renovated. Ganguly posted a tweet on Wednesday (February 24) and wrote that he will miss being at the stadium on a special day.

"Will miss being at the stadium today ..what an effort it must have been to create this ..pink test was our dream and it's going be the 2nd one in India. Hope to see full stands like last time. Under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime minister @narendramodi Amit Shah @AmitShah," Ganguly tweeted.

BCCI's secretary Jay Shah responded to the tweet and thanked him while saying he is going to miss Ganguly. He replied, "Thank you Sourav bhai. I will miss your presence."

The Narendra Modi Stadium is the world's largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of 1,10,000 spectators. About Rs. 800 crore was spent to transform the stadium into a modern architectural marvel.
