South Africa's Dale Steyn has heaped praise on India pacer Mohammed Siraj for his bowling performance in Test cricket. On Sunday (February 14), Siraj bowled in a home Test for the first time and he managed to pick up a wicket in his short spell against England.

Steyn has played alongside Siraj in IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and he calls himself a big fan of the rising India speedster. In his tweet during the second day of the ongoing Test between India and England, Steyn said he always expected the 26-year-old to do well.

Siraj was brought late into the bowling attack as India spinners were keeping England batsmen on their toes. "Will Siraj even bowl this innings?", Steyn tweeted.

After the end of the day's play, the Proteas pacer continued with another tweet and acknowledged how big a fan he is of Siraj. "I must add I’m a big fan of Siraj. Spent some time with him at RCB and he was great on and off the field, not surprised that he’s done so well in the Tests he’s played since making his debut. Keep going bud."

Earlier this year on an Australia tour, Siraj had revealed Steyn helped him during IPL to work on his bowling. "I worked really hard on bowling outswingers during lockdown just like I did for India A. As I didn’t know how to bowl it well, I even took help from Dale Steyn during IPL, and now I feel confident bowling them", he had said.
