IND v ENG 2021: BCCI begins sale of tickets for the day/night Test in Motera, Ahmedabad

Newly-constructed Motera stadium is permitted to allow 50% capacity crowd.

The tickets for the third Test between India and England at the Sardar Patel Stadium, also known as Motera, in Ahmedabad went on sale from February 14., Sunday

The stadium has a capacity of about 1.1 lakh can have 50% crowd for the third and the fourth Tests commencing on February 24 and March 4. The first-ever event the newly-renovated stadium hosted was 'Namaste Trump' welcoming the then US President Donald Trump, exactly a year before the stadium hosts a Test match.

The third Test of the series and the first at the Motera will be a day/night affair while the last Test will be a day Test match.

The same stadium will then host the 5-match T20I series upto March 20.

Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani was honored that the stadium has got the opportunity to host the first international cricket series in India post COVID-19 halt and is excited to see fans pack the stadium soon.

Nathwani said, "We hope normalcy returns soon and we get to see the stadium packed with fans cheering from all the stands for their teams."

He also thanked the BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, for giving the GCA an opportunity to host England for a total of 7 games.

The price range for the tickets of the day/night Test is from INR 300 to INR 1000. Also, a GCA official has revealed that Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Union Home Minister Amit Shah might attend the inaugural ceremony of the newly-constructed Motera Stadium on February 24.
