IND v ENG 2021: India without Ravindra Jadeja gives England a sniff, says Michael Vaughan

Vaughan also said he may need to change his previous prediction.

Joe Root’s remarkable 218, Ben Stokes and Dom Sibley's commanding 82 and 87 respectively put England in a really strong position against India in the ongoing first Test of the four-match Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

After England’s dominant display on Day 1 and Day 2 of the ongoing first Test in Chennai, former England captain and commentator Michael Vaughan has taken a U-turn on his prediction of a 3-0 Test series win in favor of India against Root and his team.

England has already piled up more than 500 runs on Day 2 in Chennai and Vaughan believes that the absence of the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja makes India weaker and gives the tourists a sniff. He was also impressed to see England playing high-quality Test cricket in India.

The former cricketer-turned-commentator believes that Jadeja was going to be the key factor behind the India cricket team’s success against England in home conditions, but the all-rounder is still recovering after undergoing surgery to fix a dislocated thumb.

Vaughan wrote on Twitter, “Think I may need to change my series prediction ... !!! #India without @imjadeja in these conditions gives England a sniff ... Plus this England Test team are playing high-quality Test cricket !!! #INDvENG,”
