India's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has started net practice for the first Test match against England. On Wednesday (February 3), he shared a batting video on his official Twitter account.
Rahane can be seen facing the net bowlers Saurabh Kumar and K Gowtham in the video. "Back to training," he captioned the video on Twitter.
Both the teams, India and England have started outdoor training on February 2. They had to undergo mandatory COVID-19 tests and quarantine before getting clearance for practice.
Rahane had led India to a Test series win in Australia by 2-1 but with the return of full-time captain Virat Kohli, he will be back to the deputy role.
India and England are scheduled to play four Test matches, followed by three ODIs, and five T20Is. Chennai is hosting the first two Tests, and the last two matches will be played in Ahmedabad.
The first Test is confirmed to be played behind closed doors. As per Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) secretary RS Ramasaamy, the second Test at Chepauk would have 50 percent crowd in attendance.
