Team India on Tuesday (February 2) began their preparations for the first Test against England, scheduled to be played in Chennai from February 5.

As the hosts hit the nets, head coach Ravi Shastri was seen addressing the players who formed a huddle at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Taking to Twitter, BCCI posted pictures of the team huddle and wrote: "Day 1 of our nets session in Chennai and it is Head Coach @RaviShastriOfc who welcomes the group with a rousing address."
In another tweet shared by the BCCI, skipper Virat Kohli was seen giving a pep talk to his troops.
“#TeamIndia captain @imVkohli speaks to the boys as our preparations begin. #INDvENG,” BCCI wrote.
On Monday (February 1), Indian players hit the ground running for the first time after serving their quarantine and returning negative COVID-19 tests.
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah and Akshar Patel among others were seen warming up last evening.
The second Test of the series will also be held at Chepauk from February 13-17 before the action moves to Ahmedabad for the last two Tests (February 24-28 and March 4-8).
After the central government's fresh COVID-19 guidelines, the BCCI is considering allowing fans inside the stadium for the last three Tests.
After the Test series, Ahmedabad will host five T20Is from March 12 March 20 while the three-match ODI series will be played in Pune from March 23 to March 28.
